I love doing swirl cupcakes! It's actually REALLY EASY and the end result look really pretty! It is SO MUCH FUN you guys have to do it! Ok, so let's get started!!!
You will need:
1 piping bag ( you want it pretty big)
2 different kinds of frosting
a big piping star tip
Assemble your piping bag. Fold down the top of the bag to keep it from getting covered in frosting. Add one color of frosting to half the bag. IT MUST STAY ON ONLY ONE HALF OF THE BAG!!!! This might be difficult, so make sure to take your time! Then, add the other color of frosting on the other side. THIS IS IMPORTANT! When you push the frosting down to the bottom of the bag, make sure to push down BOTH COLORS so there is half one color and half of the other color on the bottom of your bag. Twist the top of the bag where there is no frosting, and this will help it to not squirt out the top. Trust me, I have done this and it makes a HUGE mess!!

See how half of the cupcakes are white and the other is a pinkish orangish? ( I was going for orange, but ran out of food coloring!) This is exactly what you want! Here's one up close!

Yum! I know that some people use three different piping bags for this, with each color in a smaller piping bag and then you put both smaller piping bags in one big piping bag, and you could do this if you want it to be a little easier. But this way saves you piping bags, and you should totally go for it! If the colors do blend, they will probably blend part way, so they will still be Tye-Dye! ;)
heres what the piping bag should look like:
